COMMENTS / CONDITION: Offered is an approximately 4"x5-1/4" vintage original news photo of Sharkey Eiland, pictured in his Boston Bees uniform circa 1936. Although Eiland never appeared in the majors (for the Bees or any other team), he did have a try-out with the Boston Bees in 1936 which is presumably when this photo was taken. In addition to the Sporting News stamping on the verso of the photo, a sticker identifying this photo as proceding from the archives of The Sporting News is also affixed. This is what would be termed a Type 1 photograph, developed from the original negative in the time period in which it was originally shot. See scans for further details including condition.
