BIO: Leslie George Scarsella was born in 1913 in Santa Cruz, CA and died in 1958 in San Francisco, CA. He went to college at Saint Mary's College of California. He played major league baseball from 1935 to 1940 as 1st baseman for the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Bees. He had a very successful minor league career in Triple A. His obituary by The Sporting News says that he was in demand by the majors in 1944-45, but he turned them down, saying that he preferred to stay in the PCL. SKU: L13208
