Fred Hutchinson who pilots the 1st place Red Birds; and Billy Muffet, the former Houston Buffs pitcher who saved McDaniel from defeat. Muffett joined the Cards 8/2 replacing the ailing Murray Dickson and made his debut against the Phillies today. He went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He played major league baseball from 957 to 958 as pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Frederick Charles Hutchinson was born in Seattle, WA and died in 964 in Bradenton, FL. He played major league baseball from 939 to 953 as pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, appeared in the 940 World Series, and was selected once as an All-Star. Hutchinson also managed the 952-54 Detroit Tigers, the 956-58 St. Louis Cardinals, and the 959-64 Cincinnati Reds. SKU: XP11711
