According to the notation, it was a Grand Slam hit against the High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms. At the time, Oliver was playing for the Winston-Salem Red Birds. He went to college at Northwestern University. He played major league baseball from 1959 to 1969 as catcher, 1st baseman and outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs.
