He played major league baseball from 1956 to 1963 as infielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and the Cincinnati Reds, appeared in the 1956 and 1959 World Series, and was selected twice as an All-Star. Lonas Edgar (Jr.) Bailey was born in 1931 in Strawberry Plains, TN and died in 2007 in Knoxville, TN. He went to college at the University of Tennessee. He played major league baseball from 1953 to 1966 as catcher for the Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs and the California Angels, appeared in the 1962 World Series, and was selected 5 times as an All-Star.
