If you have any questions about a particular piece, please ask before the auction ends. BIO: George Thomas Seaver (Tom Terrific) was born in 1944 in Fresno, CA and died in 2020 in Calistoga, CA. He went to college at the University of Southern California. He played major league baseball from 1967 to 1986 as pitcher for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and the Boston Red Sox, appeared in the 1969 and 1973 World Series, was selected 12 times as an All-Star, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992. He was the 1967 National League Rookie of the Year, won Cy Young Awards in 1969, 1973 and 1975, and was the National League Pitcher of the Year in 1969 and 1975. Tom Seaver was one of the greatest pitchers of the 20th Century, winning 311 games. He also wrote the classic book The Art of Pitching. Of all the members of the Hall of Fame, he came closest to election by acclamation with 425 of 430 (98.84%) possible votes.
