He played major league baseball from 1984 to 1998 as outfielder for the New York Mets, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians and the Oakland Athletics, appeared in the 1986 and 1989 World Series, and was selected in 1989 and 1990 as an All-Star. Mitchell was the 1989 National League MVP and 1989 Major League Player of the Year. Mark Patrick Johnson was born in 1967 in Worcester, MA and went to college at Dartmouth College.
