He played major league baseball from 1992 to 2005 as leftfielder, shortstop and 1st baseman for the Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins and the Washington Nationals, and was selected in 1994 as an All-Star.
