BIO: Edwin Albert Brinkman was born in 1941 in Cincinnati, OH and died in 2008 in Cincinnati, OH. He went to college at the University of Cincinnati. He played major league baseball from 1961 to 1975 as shortstop for the Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees, and was selected in 1973 as an All-Star. After his playing career ended, Brinkman was a Detroit Tigers coach in 1979 and was with the San Diego Padres in 1981. He managed the Montgomery Rebels in 1977-1978, the Lakeland Tigers in 1980, Birmingham Barons in 1982 and was then a member of the Chicago White Sox staff from 1983 to 1988.
