The original photo was taken by George Burke in 1932, but this card was produced some time later (no earlier than the 1950's judging by the standard Kodak back). Comes from a large collection of such postcards that we will be listing over the coming months, all having standard postcard backs but being postally unused. Wear on these, if any, is mostly confined to minor corner and edge wear, but see scans for further details including condition. BIO: Henry Joseph Colquit Patterson was born in San Francisco, CA and died in 970 in Panorama City, CA. He played major league baseball for a single season in a single game in 932 as catcher for the Boston Red Sox. On September 5, 932, Patterson appeared in a game against the Washington Senators at Griffith Stadium. He went hitless in his only at-bat and never appeared in a major league game again. SKU: GB12298
