NUMBER OF PHOTOS: 1 COMMENTS / CONDITION: Offered is an approximately 3-1/2"x5-1/2" real photo postcard of Harley Boss, pictured in his Cleveland Indians uniform circa 1933. The original photo was taken by George Burke in 1933, but this card was produced some time later (no earlier than the 1950's judging by the standard Kodak back). Comes from a large collection of such postcards that we will be listing over the coming months, all having standard postcard backs but being postally unused. Wear on these, if any, is mostly confined to minor corner and edge wear, but see scans for further details including condition. BIO: Elmer Harley Boss (Lefty) was born in 908 in Hodge, LA and died in 964 in Nashville, TN. He went to college at Louisiana Tech University. He played major league baseball from 928 to 933 as st baseman for the Washington Senators and the Cleveland Indians. Boss was manager of the Clarksville Colts in the KITTY League in 947. The team finished in 8th place with a 40-83 record. Boss was the coach at Vanderbilt University in 960 and 963-964. SKU: GB12319
