BIO: Sidney Charles Hudson was born in Coalfield, TN and died in 2008 in Waco, TX. He played major league baseball from 940 to 954 as pitcher for the Washington Senators and the Boston Red Sox, and was selected twice as an All-Star. After his pitching career, he scouted for the Red Sox from 955 through 960, then joined the expansion edition of the Senators in 96 as the team's first pitching coach. He spent three different terms (96-65; 968-72; 976-78) in that role, and — in between those assignments — also was a minor league pitching instructor for Washington and, after 972, its successor franchise, the Texas Rangers. After leaving professional baseball, he was a pitching coach for Baylor University's varsity baseball team. SKU: GB11960
