BIO: William Frederick Woodward was born in 1942 in Miami, FL and went to college at Florida State University. He played major league baseball from 1963 to 1971 as infielder for the Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds, and appeared in the 1970 World Series. Woody Woodward was assistant GM of the Cincinnati Reds from 1981 to 1984, then assistant GM of the New York Yankees in 1985-1986. He was GM of the Yankees in 1987 and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1988. Woodward then was General Manager of the Seattle Mariners from 1988 to 1999. Woodward had also been a Cincinnati Reds broadcaster in 1974 and 1975, and was the head coach at Florida State University from 1975 to 1978.
