1954 Brooklyn Dodgers DON ZIMMER Vintage Wire Photo Rookie

Brooklyn Dodgers announced 7/1 recall of shortstop Don Zimmer from their St. Paul farm club. Zimmer was brought up to replace injured Pee Wee Reese. Reese has suffered two leg injuries recently, and it is as insurance against a possible long layoff for the veteran shortstop and Dodger captain that Zimmer was recalled. Zimmer hit .291 and clubbec 17 homers in American Association in 1954.
